How to Add UTM Parameters to TikTok Ads
TikTok lets you append custom parameters to an ad's destination URL without changing the ad creative or targeting. Adding the parameter below does not restart the ad's learning phase, so it's safe to apply to live ads.
1. Open the ad in TikTok Ads Manager
- Select the campaign you want to edit
- Click the Ad group, then the specific Ad you want to modify
- Click Build URL parameters or Edit URL parameters
2. Add the custom parameters
| Parameter name | Value | Description |
|---|---|---|
juicy_source | tiktok | Where the traffic comes from |
juicy_aid | __CID__ | Dynamic TikTok Ad ID |
You don't need to fill in TikTok's standard UTM fields for Juicy to work, but you're free to use them for your own reporting alongside Juicy's parameters.
3. Apply and save
Click Apply, then Save to confirm the change.
Frequently asked questions
Do I still need standard UTM parameters?
No. Juicy only needs juicy_source and juicy_aid to attribute orders. Standard UTM fields are optional and only matter if you use another analytics tool alongside Juicy.
Why use __CID__ instead of a fixed ad ID?
__CID__ is a dynamic TikTok macro that automatically inserts the correct ad ID for each click, so you can set the parameter once and reuse it across every ad without editing it per ad.
