How Juicy Handles Shipping Costs
Shipping shows up in two completely different places in Juicy, and mixing them up is the most common source of confusion. One is automatic and comes straight from Shopify. The other is real money you pay a carrier, and only you know that number.
1. Shipping paid by the customer
This is the shipping amount shown on the Shopify order and paid by the customer at checkout.
- If the customer pays for shipping, Juicy automatically imports this amount from Shopify
- If the customer gets free shipping, the amount is €0
- No manual setup is required for this part
2. Actual shipping cost — what you pay the carrier
This is the real cost you pay to carriers like DHL or UPS. Shopify has no visibility into this number, so it must be configured manually in Juicy under Settings → Shipping costs.
Juicy lets you define shipping costs in three ways, which can be combined to model how different carriers actually charge:
- Per country
- By weight
- By quantity
Frequently asked questions
Why doesn't my shipping cost update automatically?
Shopify only knows what the customer paid for shipping, not what you pay your carrier. That's why actual carrier costs always require manual setup under Settings → Shipping costs.
Can I set different shipping costs for different carriers or destinations?
Yes. You can combine country, weight, and quantity rules to closely match how your actual carrier pricing works.
What if my shipping setup is more complex than country, weight, or quantity rules?
Custom integrations may be available — contact Juicy support to discuss your specific requirements.
